Welcome to my home page...  let's see how this goes. 

I volunteer as a NARHA certified instructor for a therapeutic riding school.   Our horses are specially trained for use as therapeutic horses to work with special needs' riders from ages 2-85 with all sorts of special needs (ie emotional, physical, mental, etc.)...  Safety support for our riders involves having up to three volunteers hovering around our horses as they carry a handicapped rider for up to an hour at a time.  Our main goal is for our riders to be safe so our horses are trained to *whoa* if a rider's weight is off center and/or something that normally would spook a horse happens.

My life is very full with the volunteer work and substitute teaching, along with a little bit of eBay.  All of this works very well with my favorite job...  being MOM to my own two wonderful boys.

Pictured at the top is Amy!   She is a Haflinger which is a small breed (think miniature Clydesdale, I'm not kidding!) that is light brown with cream-colored mane, tail, and legs -- aka Golden Chestnut.  So sweet and so small!  I am 5'8" and she is up to my chest -- that's small!   She almost has six legs when I get on her for her training session!!
